3rd Annual  Farewell Bobby Fischer New and Improved for 2010   Anybody who played in the 2009 Farewell Bobby Fischer, knows that the turnout was FANTASTIC, (71 players compared to 31 players in 2008).  For 2010, the prize structure is based on an anticipated 100 players!   There are prizes for almost every 100 point rating group in both sections.  We will also be providing a spacious skittles room, as opposed to "setting up camp" in the hallways. For 2010, the Open Section will have their tournament spread out over two days, with time controls that are a bit more worthy of higher level chess.  (The fastest time control of last year, G/58, has been done away with, so that the "element of chance" is reduced.)  The fastest time control this year is G/64, two games of which will take place on Friday night.  That way, with only 4 rounds, Saturday can be dedicated to a more acceptable pace of quality chess, a truly fair amount of time for luch, and competing in the trivia contest without having to scramble. Simply having an U-1200 Section is an improvement!  This has been provided for a number of reasons, not the least of which is, that it is nice to offer less experienced players the opportunity to play some rated games against other players of similar strength and skill.  The U-1200 Section has had their time controls changed this year so that the players, and their families, can get home at a reasonable time!  There will be numerous class prizes, as well as a       "Top Female" and "Best Upset" in EACH section!
