Come test your "trivial knowledge"  of Bobby Fischer Trivia !         Two Separate Groups:   Advanced   AND   Regular  The Avanced group will be those who have placed in the top 3 in previous year's trivia contests.  Steven Gordon, Steve Hoisington, Marti Olson, Tory Anderson, and Caleb Kircher are automatically in.  Bryan Leano, Scott Treimann, and Alex Gustafsson will have the choice of competing in the Advanced group, for better prizes, or staying in the Regular group.  There will not be a separate group based on age, although there will be a prize for the top placing junior (19 and under) in the regular group.  I have split the groups this way, so that the advanced Trivia Masters will not have to contend with basic questions, and so that the rest of of merely knowledgeable people, won't have to contend with those who have displayed an uncanny ability to win Bobby Fischer Trivia contests!  (The top 3 finishers of each year's Regular group, will be playing in the Advanced group every year thereafter).   The 2010 Trivia Contest will involve Bobby Fischer and other World Chess Champions        After Round 4, and after lunch, the trivia contest will begin at 3:15 - 3:30 (or so)!      The format will be as follows:      ANYBODY who wants to, will be able to compete in the trivia contest.   Players, parents, coaches, clones, pets,,,,,,,,you get the idea.   If there are more than 50-60 people involved, we'll just have to whittle the crowd down a little quicker with tougher questions.        The entire contest will last between 15 and 20 minutes,,,22 at the most (hopefully).     Each trivia contestant will have an ample supply of paper, and a writing utensil to record their answers.   In the beginning, three questions will be asked.  (They will be purposely designed to get you through to the next round of Trivia Questions)   If you get all 3 right, you advance and move on.  If you get any wrong, your time in the spotlight will have ended.  Depending on how quickly, or slowly, the number of contestants are dwindling, it will probably reach a point where 1 or 2 questions at a time will be asked.  I do not anticipate needing to ask more than 3 questions at a time.   Perhaps when we are down to 4 or 5 contestants, and certainly the final 2, then I will be asking one question at a time.     As contestants are "eliminated" from the contest, I will probably be asking a few of you to help in judging the "timeliness" of a written answer.   Contestants,,,,please write your answers BOLDLY ,  so that they can be easily seen.        PRIZES: Scrap Paper,  Bottle Caps,  Broken DVD Covers, old pencils with rock hard erasers,,,etc.                          I can guarantee that the final two  (or so) in each age group will receive a small prize.                        It has not been decided on yet, but the trivia contest winners will receive something along the lines of either some movie tickets, or gift certificates, or a brand new Lexus - SC 430 !*   *  Odds of it being a Lexus = zero.    Odds that it will be Movie tickets, or gift certificates  =  99.99%       So study up, and come prepared.   Mostly, be prepared to have some fun with this !!!!!     ( A helpful hint to those who have read this far:  There will be times when the correct spelling of an answer will count. )
